1981

Paper entitled “Surface Coatings” presented to DSIR Chemistry Scientific audience.

Paper entitled “Post painted Steel” presented to a special meeting of the Australasian Corrosion Association Wellington.

Paper entitled “A Paint Approvals Scheme for New Zealand” presented to a meeting of Industry and Departmental representatives on Public sector Paint Supply convened by the then Ministry of works and Development.

1982/85

Annual lectures to the then Ministry of Works and Developments meetings of District Steel Structures Overseers.

1983

Two 3 hour lectures as follows (with set questions for examination):
“Painting new and existing steelwork” and
“Advantages and Limitations of Various Types of Paint Systems.
Presented to a course on “Introduction to Corrosion and Corrosion Control”, sponsored by the Australasian Corrosion Association, and held at the Petone Technical Institute

1986 Lecture to New Zealand Housing Corporation Building Overseers entitled “The Public Sector Paint Committee Approvals Scheme”.
1987

An address presented to the Inaugural meeting of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the SSPC entitled “Recent Case Histories: Corrosion Protection in New Zealand”.

1993

Lecture to the June joint technical meeting of SCANZ Auckland Section and the ACA Auckland Division) entitled “Marine Tank Bottom Pitting Corrosion”.

1994/96

Director/Lecturer to seven TransPower “Tower Painting M50” courses, Omaka.
Director/Lecturer to ACA Coating Inspector Courses on two occasions, during July.

1996

Lecture to the October joint technical meeting of SCANZ Auckland Section and the ACA (Auckland Division) entitled “Refurbishment of Transmission Towers”.

1997

Presented paper “High Voltage Galvanised Steel Transmission Towers. A Commentary on Recent Refurbishment Techniques in New Zealand”, to the Annual SCANZ Convention held at the Wairakei Tourist Hotel 24-27 July 1997.

Director/Lecturer to the ACA Coating Inspector Course, 14-18 July.

A 3-hour lecture on the Fundamentals of Paint Technology presented to an ACA Corrosion Technology course, held at the Auckland Institute of Technology, 26 June.
